Barcelona signed Rashford from Manchester United on loan with an option to buy for €30 million, but following the arrival of another English winger, Antony Gordon, from Newcastle United, Barcelona decided not to activate the clause, which has a deadline till June 15.
Barcelona informed of their decision to Marcus Rashford, who is with the England World Cup squad for the World Cup, which is set to begin tomorrow. Rashford removed all references regarding Barcelona from his social media profiles.
Striker Remains Barça's Priority
After the arrival of Antony Gordon, Barcelona's priority is to sign a striker to succeed Robert Lewandowski in the Blaugrana. Julian Alvarez is the primary target of Barcelona, but his asking price has skyrocketed from €150 million to €500 million following the bid of Real Madrid for Alvarez.

However, Barcelona has not completely ruled out the possibility of bringing Rashford to Camp Nou once again, but it will not be by activating the €30 million clause.
After resolving the striker's signing, Barcelona will look into Rashford's case and will inquire about the possibility of signing the player for a lower fee or another loan spell.
