Barcelona delay Rashford decision as new talks reshape transfer plan

The Marcus Rashford saga will be very intriguing as the transfer window goes forward. Reports from England earlier stated that Barca have decided against retaining the player by triggering the buy option, but the latest development shows something different.

United firm on their stance

Barcelona have not completely decided not to sign Rashford for next summer, as per Fabrizio Romano, but the Catalans don't want to trigger the 30 million buy option put on Rashford by Manchester United.

Barca is negotiating with United for a lower price tag or a loan for another year, but Manchester United still insists on a permanent deal with 30 million euros.

If Barca does not sign him, then the player will come back to Manchester United, and he will be sold this summer itself.

Player preference could play a role

Rashford wants to continue in Barcelona; he loves the club and management. Hansi Flick also has a wonderful relationship with Rashford, so the manager blocking the deal is very less likely.

Barcelona still scanning the market

Barcelona is still actively exploring more players in the transfer market for an alternative left winger, which aligns with their long-term project and Hansi Flick's footballing philosophy.
