Barcelona Launch Major Push To Sign Marcus Rashford

Barcelona Shift Focus To Rashford Amid Complicated Winger Market

Barcelona are actively searching for a quality left winger to strengthen their attacking options for next season. They have players like Rafael Leão, Ez Abde, and Victor Muñoz on their list, but all these deals have their own complications, like financial issues and lack of experience, so Barcelona have decided to go for Rashford in the summer as per Dídac Peyret [SPORT].

Hansi Flick And Deco See Rashford As Ideal Solution

Catalan clubs consider Rashford a serious option for left winger like never before. There are two reasons behind this decision as per the report: the first one is Flick likes Rashford as a winger; his numbers on the pitch are excellent even though the player has faced some criticism.

The second reason is that most top-quality left wingers on the market are financially out of Barcelona’s reach due to their high transfer fees. The club can sign young talents for relatively low transfer fees, but there is no guarantee they will deliver immediate results at the highest level. Here Rashford emerges as a serious option for the team. Deco believes the English international can bring experience and quality to the team in the winger role.

Barcelona Already Have Agreement With Rashford

Rashford has publicly admitted that he wants to join Barca for the long term, and Barca already has an agreement with the player for a contract with lower salary terms per sport, but an agreement with Manchester United has still not been reached because of the transfer fee. The buy option for Rashford costs €30 million , but Barca expects to sign the player for a lower fee than €30 million , so Barca and United have to reach an agreement regarding the transfer fee for the player.

Manchester United Stand Firm On €30M Asking Price

Barca is planning to pay the fee in installments for 5 years if they sign Rashford; meanwhile, United will not be ready to reduce the transfer fee from €30 million , as they think that amount is much lower than the actual market value of Rashford, and United believes clubs like Aston Villa, where Rashford spent a short-term loan spell in the 2024-25 season, are ready to pay €30 million for the player. An option of a loan for one more year to Barcelona is also in consideration.
