As per SPORT, Barca has conducted initial discussions with Romero's camp about a potential transfer in the summer. Cristian Romero is seen as a plan B for Alessandro Bastoni but can be a separate target if sales are made, but the chances of him being a primary target are very low.
Spurs situation could influence Romero deal
If Spurs get relegated to the second division, Barcelona is expecting to sign the experienced defender for a low fee compared to Bastoni, but Romero is a right-footed center back, and he plays in the same position as Pau Cubarsí, creating confusion among fans.
But reports from Spain point out that Hansi Flick and the team will assess the situation and decide whether the team needs to prioritize a left center back or a right center back. If Flick chooses a left center back, then Romero will not be an option.
