Ferran’s Role Growing At Barcelona
Barcelona wants to renew the contract of Ferran Torres as soon as possible, as per SPORT. As star striker Robert Lewandowski leaves, Ferran Torres’ importance in the Barcelona squad continues to grow. Now his contract is set to expire on June 30, 2027, and Flick wants to extend the contract as a priority.
Torres Delivered Strong Numbers This Season
Ferran Torres got a lot of criticism for missing crucial chances, but he has been pivotal in the team's performance this season. As Lewandowski moved to more of a bench role, Ferran scored 16 goals and 1 assist from 32 league matches and 3 goals and 1 assist from 10 Champions League matches. Hansi Flick is completely satisfied with the performance of the player and his presence in the locker room as a senior figure to young players.
Barca Still Searching For Another Striker
Along with Ferran Torres, Barca needs one more striker; for that role, they are eyeing Chelsea forward Joao Pedro and Atletico's star striker Julian Alvarez as a priority for the summer.
Still some European clubs are ready to offer money for Ferran, but Barca doesn't want to lose the player as Lewa is leaving the club.
