Barcelona Watching Closely As €75M City Attacker Considers Summer Exit

Barcelona Monitoring Marmoush Situation

Catalan giants Barcelona have Egyptian striker Omar Marmoush of Manchester City on their striker shortlists. Marmoush joined City in the winter transfer window of the 2024-25 season after his world-class performance with German club Eintracht Frankfurt.

Manchester City Future In Doubt For Egyptian Star

Despite a good second half of the season with Manchester City in the 2024-25 season, the player lost his spot as a forward in the starting 11. Marmoush can play as an attacking midfielder, striker, left winger, and false 9, and Pep Guardiola has tested the player in all these roles. In this season Marmoush played 22 league games for City and provided 3 goals and assists for the team, but the 27-year-old is not satisfied with the playing time he is getting.

Marmoush’s Frankfurt Form Still Impresses Barcelona

Omar Marmoush and his camp are planning to hold discussions with Manchester City right after the Premier League season regarding his future at the club, and the player is thinking of a move to a foreign club. The player is on Barcelona's shortlist because of his creativity, technical qualities, and finishing ability, even though he had a bitter experience with City, but his performance with Frankfurt was actually great. The player provided 25 goal contributions for the team from 17 matches in the first half of the 2024-25 season before getting transferred to Manchester City.

Hansi Flick Faces Tactical Question Over Marmoush Fit

Manchester City paid €75 million for Marmoush to Frankfurt, so when a transfer situation to Barcelona comes in, City will ask for at least the amount they invested in the player. However, the player is not in the priorities for Barcelona but an option if the team misses their primary targets. Omar Marmoush is a phenomenal player against a low block with his close control and dribbling, which traditional Barca forwards have, but if Hansi Flick needs an out-and-out goal scorer with physical strength, then Omar Marmoush will not be the better option.
