Fabrizio Romano Reveals Inter’s Stance On Bastoni To Barca

Inter Milan Unwilling To Let Bastoni Leave Easily

Barcelona’s interest in Alessandro Bastoni has generated excitement among fans in recent weeks, but the scenario seems much more difficult than expected. It can be argued that Inter Milan will not want one of their best players to depart from the club easily, especially considering that he is one of the key components of their project.

According to reports from Fabrizio Romano, Inter Milan consider Bastoni one of the best defenders in the world and see him as more than just another player for sale. For Barcelona to get his signature, they will have to fork out quite some money, probably above €50m.

Inter Milan Determined To Keep Bastoni

Within Inter, Bastoni is considered to be far from another mere defender. As the Italian international becomes a leader in the defensive line due to his calmness on the field, good passing skills, and tactical understanding of the game, he continues to prove his importance to the team’s management.

For this reason, the Nerazzurri will not make any haste in their talks with potential suitors. With the exception of an extremely lucrative deal, it does not seem likely that Inter will sell the defender this summer.

Barcelona’s Financial Situation Complicates The Move

A sum of about €65 to 70 million would have a strong influence on the strategy for other players because the team needs to strengthen its defense in several other areas of attack.

The Catalan team is still being cautious while working in the transfer window because of the financial limitations. The management of the club is aware that spending a lot of money on defenders would affect their strategy for other players.

Bastoni Interested, But Not Pushing For Exit

The point to note here is that Bastoni himself would be open to the idea of moving to Barcelona. The chance of getting to play for Barcelona and being a part of Hansi Flick’s team would definitely be appealing to the defender.

That being said, the fact that the player would be open to a move doesn’t necessarily mean that he is forcing himself out of the club. As things stand, the defender has not told Inter that he wishes to leave, nor is there any hint of friction between the two parties.

As of now, while Barcelona may have ambitions of signing him, the task seems tough. Given the current financial climate, it won’t be easy to convince Inter to let go of such a valuable asset.
