Monaco Want Ansu Fati Permanently but Barcelona Salary Problem Could Collapse €11M Deal

Ansu Fati was the one who was dubbed the next Messi in Barcelona before Yamal, but injuries ruined his progress. The later arrival of players like Raphinha and Yamal closed his doors to the starting eleven, and even as a bench player, that team decided to let the player go for a loan at Monaco last year. This Monaco chapter has been great for Fati as he scored 8 goals in the league and pulled out some stellar performances even though he had hamstring and calf issues.

€11M Buy Option on the Table, but Salary a Major Obstacle

Monaco is totally impressed with Fati's performance, and they want to trigger the buyout clause of 11 million euros, but the issue is with the huge salary of the player; Fati was one of the highest earners in Barca, and during the loan period, Barca covered a huge amount of his salary. Now Monaco demands a significant salary reduction from Fati's side to sign him permanently; the camp of Ansu Fati still hasn't responded to this.

Barcelona’s Wage Burden and Summer Pressure to Sell

The player has a contract with Barca until 2028. Catalans will have a buyback option of 28 million for Fati for a long time if he signs for Monaco. As per Barca's financial conditions, they will never take Fati back to the team, as he is a high earner, and they will try to force him out in the summer.
